Being and Becoming: A Community for the Curious is a Toronto based non-profit organization that has a central mission to create a community around the philosophical exploration of ideas, questions, and experiences so that we may live more intentional, connected, and meaningful lives.

Every two weeks, we invite members of our community to engage in a collaborative exploration of a chosen topic and dig deeper into whatever it is we are most curious about.

In Summer 2025, we piloted a new educational initiative called Curiosity in Session with both classes and skills workshops! Stay tuned for announcements about its return.

Would you like to receive updates from us about upcoming events, the growing community, and more?
Far from confining ourselves to the world of academic philosophy, we aim for a diverse representation of disciplines among our leadership, our audience, and our guests, who include artists, teachers, writers, as well as philosophers. We also seek to offer a diverse range of events, from formal soirées to open mic nights to discussion cafés, and more! In other words, there’s something for everyone.
We are committed to listening and learning from the desires, needs, and interests of our community. We aim to highlight and explore the work that is being done in academic and non-academic spaces to build stronger connections in the community.
Join us for an evening of meaningful conversations and community for those seeking connection with others through dialogue and shared exploration. Whether you've attended our events before or are joining us for the first time, we're excited to welcome you.
