Curiosity in Session: Philosophy classes and workshops on the questions that matter
Curiosity in Session is Being and Becoming’s new educational initiative. It seeks to facilitate public access to philosophy while increasing public philosophical literacy through alternating bi-weekly (on alternate weeks to Cafés) Curiosity Classes and Philosophical Skills Workshops.

Curiosity Classes (“CC”) are accessible, read-ahead seminars featuring small and large group discussions; no prior knowledge is required, but some preparation (reading ahead) is necessary.
The topic of our next class is: The Experience of Grief! Join us on Saturday, July 5th from 1:30-3:30 pm.
What are Curiosity Classes?
Curiosity Classes (CC) are read-ahead seminars that explore the previous week’s Curiosity Café theme at a more in-depth level in a collaborative classroom environment. Led by our Director of Educational Programming Dr. Alexandra Gustafson and rotating guest facilitators, attendees read, discuss, and learn from important philosophical works in a structured and accessible environment.
What are Philosophical Skills Workshops?
Philosophical Skills Workshops (SW) are interactive, activity-based sessions designed to help you expand your philosophical toolkit. They require no prior experience or preparation. Led primarily by Alexandra, attendees gain hands-on experience practicing essential philosophical skills like reconstructing a philosophical argument for greater clarity and understanding, evaluating an argument for general plausibility, and identifying argumentative fallacies
Philosophical Skills Workshops (“SW”), are accessible, interactive sessions featuring solo, small group, and/or large group activities; no prior knowledge is required, and no preparation is necessary.
The topic of our next workshop will be announced soon! Our last one was titled: How to Evaluate an Argument.

Tickets are available on Eventbrite!
